The Canadian Muslim Forum (FCM-CMF) congratulates you on your agreement to form and support a coalition government as a way out of the dangerous situation the current minority government has put our county in.

While we are feeling the heat of the international economic meltdown, created largely by the irresponsible polices of the outgoing US government, we, Canadians,  are in need of responsible politicians who will put the wellbeing of people ahead of partisan politics and ideological beliefs. The need is for politicians who are willing to approach this crisis wisely and are willing to also seize the opportunity to correct the democratic deficit we are staring to witness.

Canadian people are looking for a leadership that respects their will, defends their interest, and secures their future. They are looking for a government that will protect their savings, safeguard the environment, create jobs and maintain social services.

Furthermore, Canadians are looking for a government that will repair the damage done to their countryʼs international image as a peace keeper and a promoter of justice . A government that doesn’t abandon its citizens when they are subjected to injustice anywhere in the world.

We congratulate the three of you, not as a reflection of a partisan position, but as a reaction to taking a step which we believe is in the interest of our country, each and every one of us.

We hope that you would continue to cooperate selflessly and that the parliament will face the current crisis with efficiency and wisdom.
